Pharma leaps offshore

The pharmaceutical industry, hindered in part by fears about poor protection for intellectual property, came late to offshoring.
But pharma stands to benefit at least as much as other industries from the opportunities that offshoring presents, since its real value lies not just in simple cost savings but also in the faster development of new compounds and a greater focus for sales and marketing organizations.
Low labor costs offer the prospect of more efficient and successful clinical trials.
Offshoring also gives companies opportunities to gain better insights about sales trends by analyzing sales and marketing data more closely.
